Scholarships
         
  The Department of Civil Engineering Scholarship Scheme was first established in 1994. This year, there were a total of 16 scholarships, awarded to both undergraduate and taught postgraduate students.

Scholarship2010

The Scholarship Presentation Ceremony for 2011-12 was held on April 2, 2012 in Loke Yew Hall, HKU and the event was attended by recipients, parents, donors and teaching staff. There were a total of 21 recipients including B.Eng. and M.Sc. students. The Guest of Honour, Mr. Lau Ka Keung, Director of Highways, delivered a speech and presented souvenirs to sponsors thanking them for their generosity in offering contributions to the cause of academic excellence. It was a chance not only for the students to thank their donors personally, but also for them to interact and exchange with prominent engineers from the industry. Student Awards
 

 

  Mr. Lau Tak Bun, Denvid (MPhil student) was awarded the DuPont Scholarship and an extension of the Swire Scholarship for the academic year 2005-06. He has also been awarded the Croucher Foundation Scholarships 2006-07 to pursue PhD degree studies at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA.
 
         


  Mr. Zhu Ji-Hua (PhD student) was the recipient of the Continental Steel – Young Steel Researcher Award at the 8th International Conference on Steel, Space and Composite Structures held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on May 15-17, 2006.

         
 

 

  In the ICE Paper Competition 2005, Mr. Chan Nor Man and Miss Chow Nga Yin (2005 graduates) won the Best Paper Award in the “Highways, Railway and Transportation Discipline” and “Construction Practice and Management Discipline” respectively.

  Miss Leung Cheuk-wah, Jeannie (2001 graduate) was presented an award by the ICE President, Dr. Colin J. Clinton on September 30, 2005 in recognition of “Young Engineers' Achievements”.

         
 

  Mr. Wong Tsang Hung (2005 graduate) was awarded the Arup Best Student Award in Structural Engineering 2004-05 by the Joint Structural Division of the HKIE and the Institution of Structural Engineer, UK (IStructE), and the Best Final Year Project Award for Undergraduate Courses by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Hong Kong Section.
 
         


  Mr. Chan Shu Ning, Miss Chu Mei Ling and Mr. Lincoln Lee Chung Hin (BEng students) received The Hong Kong Institution of Engineers Scholarship 2004-2005.
         
 

 

  Mr. Chio Kai Ming and Mr. Liu Ka Yeung (BEng students) were awarded the Gammon University Fellowship 2005-06.
