MSc(Eng) in Transportation Engineering
 
Introduction
The MSc(Eng) in Transportation Engineering programme, organized by the Department of Civil Engineering, aims at providing postgraduate education for graduates aspiring to pursue careers in transportation. It is also intended for transportation professionals seeking to advance and update their knowledge in subjects relating to traffic and transportation engineering.
 
     
Admission
Preference will be given to applicants holding a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from The University of Hong Kong or an equivalent qualification from another comparable university or institution. However, degree holders in other disciplines, such as Environmental Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems Engineering, Economics, Mathematics, or Statistics, will also be considered for admission.

Mode of Attendance
Part-time/Full-time (PT: 2-3 years; FT: 1-2 years); lectures of most courses will usually be given on weekday evenings and on Saturdays; lectures of some courses may also be given on Sundays; lectures of a few courses may be given during daytime of weekdays to suit mainly full-time students.

Recognition
This programme is accredited by ICE, IStructE and IHT as meeting the requirements for Further Learning for a Chartered Engineer under the provisions of UK-SPEC for intakes 2002-2020, for candidates that have already acquired a CEng accredited BEng(Hons) undergraduate first degree.

Graduates from this programme will be exempted automatically from the examination requirements leading to the qualification of Membership of The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport in Hong Kong until 2017.
