Dr. Mao
obtained his PhD degree from Tsinghua University in 2005,
and was a research associate in Research Center for
Eco-Environmental Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences in
2006. He has participated varies key projects, e.g.,
projects supported by the National Natural Science
Foundation of China (e.g., ¡§Coherent structure of turbulence
in open-channel flow and its interaction with sediment
movement¡¨, ¡§The stability effect on the Yangtse river¡¦s bed
by sand pit¡¨, and ¡§Water environmental characteristic near
the dam area of Three Gorges Reservoir¡¨), The 863 National
High Technology Program of China (e.g. Water environment
improvement and demonstration in tributaries of Dianchi
Lake). In the University of Hong Kong, his main research
focuses on carrying capacity and Kalman filter for
prediction of algal bloom dynamics.
